Getting started with CreaRack Pro

What it is

This guide takes you from your first login to a documented rack and a monitored device. You need no prior knowledge of the platform.

1. The Welcome Wizard

The first time you log in, the Welcome Wizard opens on top of the Dashboard. It has two steps:

Step 1 — Set Up Your Company. Enter your Company Name and Address / Contact Info, and optionally click Upload Logo to add your company logo. The logo appears in reports and labels.

Step 2 — Choose How to Start. Pick the path that fits your workflow:

Not ready to decide? Click Skip for now to go straight to the Dashboard, or Open Guide for a 9-slide tour of every module.

You can relaunch the wizard at any time: open the Config menu in the top bar and click Re-run Welcome Wizard (admin only).

2. Create your first rack

Racks are the central unit in CreaRack Pro. On the Dashboard, use the create form in the header: type a Name (for example “Rack 01 - Room A”), set the Height (U) (42 is the default), and click Create. The new rack appears as a card. Click it to open the Rack Editor.

Tip: if you started from a map instead, placing a rack on the map creates the rack for you — it shows up on the Dashboard automatically.

3. Add devices to the rack

In the Rack Editor, drag device stencils from the library into rack slots: switches, servers, UPS units, patch panels, access points. For each device you can set:

The Rack Editor is the bridge to everything else. Without these settings, devices will not appear in Terminal or Observatory.

4. Monitor a device

Open Observatory from the top bar. Devices with Monitoring Targets configured appear in the device list. CreaRack starts collecting metrics: ping latency, SNMP bandwidth, interface errors, and vendor-specific CPU/memory/temperature charts. Install the Local Agent if you want Sentinel 24/7 monitoring with the browser closed.

For WiFi access points use Wireless, and for UPS devices use UPS — both have dedicated dashboards.

5. Discover devices in bulk

Instead of adding devices one by one, open Terminal and click Auto-Provision. The wizard scans an IP range, identifies devices via SNMP, and lets you send them to racks, Wireless Monitor, UPS Monitor, or Digital Signage in bulk.

6. Connect via SSH

In Terminal, click any device with SSH credentials stored to open a browser-based SSH session. You can run multi-pane layouts, saved scripts, and SFTP file transfers.
