Playlists

What it is

A playlist is an ordered sequence of content that plays in a loop on your screens. You can mix images, videos, text slides, color slides and scrolling tickers in one playlist, set how long each item stays on screen, and add transitions between slides. The Playlists tab lists all your playlists with item count, total duration, and a PUBLISHED badge on any playlist currently assigned to a player.

How to create a playlist

  1. Go to Signage > Playlists and click New Playlist.
  2. Enter a descriptive Name (e.g. “Lobby - Office hours”) and an optional Description. Leave Loop checked so the playlist repeats.
  3. The Playlist Builder opens with two panels:
    • Left — the media library, with two tabs: Media (your uploaded assets, with a search box) and Transitions. An Upload button lets you add new files without leaving the builder.
    • Right — Playlist Items: the playback sequence, with the running total duration at the top.

How to add and arrange items

  1. Click a media item on the left, or drag and drop it onto the items panel.
  2. Use the toolbar buttons for non-media slides:
    • Text — a static text slide (content, font size, text and background color).
    • Ticker — scrolling text that stays visible over all slides; set the scroll speed.
    • Color — a solid color slide, useful as a separator.
  3. Set each item’s duration in the inline field (1–300 seconds).
  4. Reorder with the up/down arrows; remove an item with the × button.
  5. Click an item’s name to reopen its settings and edit them.

How to add transitions

  1. Open the Transitions tab on the left panel.
  2. Pick from nine effects: Cross Dissolve, Fade Black, Slide Left, Slide Right, Slide Up, Slide Down, Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Cut.
  3. Drag a transition card onto the items panel, or click it to append it at the end. It appears as its own item in the sequence, between the slides it separates.

How to preview

  1. Click Preview at the bottom of the builder. CreaRack renders the playlist server-side and plays it in the built-in 16:9 monitor — the same SVG output SpinetiX players will run.
  2. Click Stop to end the preview.

How to save and publish

Publishing works through the Local Agent: CreaRack generates a publish URL per player and the Agent configures each SpinetiX device to pull the content. Your browser never handles player passwords — it only passes a credential_id and the Agent resolves the credentials server-side. With no stored credential, you get a one-time manual prompt.
