Export rack inventory to CSV

What it is

CreaRack exports your rack inventory as plain CSV — one row per device, ready for Excel, Google Sheets, a CMDB import or an audit checklist. Two scopes are available:

How to export the full inventory

  1. Sign in with an admin account.
  2. Click Config in the top bar.
  3. Under File Operations, click Export to CSV.
  4. The browser downloads CreaRack-Pro_Export.csv.

The file contains these columns:

ColumnContent
Rack ID / Rack NameRack identifier and name
LocationRack location, or N/A
Height (U)Rack height in rack units
StatusRack status
Device ID / Device NameDevice identifier and name
U Position / U HeightPosition from the bottom and units occupied
ModelDevice model from its stencil
NotesDevice notes

Racks with no devices still appear, as a single row with the device columns empty. That makes the export a complete rack census, not just a device list.

How to export a single rack

There is no button for this in the UI — use the API URL directly in the browser, or from a script:

GET /api/racks/{rack_id}/export/csv

The download is named rack_export_{rack_id}.csv. Columns: Rack Name, Location, Height (U), Category (holds the rack status), Notes, Device Name, Position, Device Height, Device Notes. Devices are listed top of rack first.

You can find the rack_id in the rack’s editor URL.
