What it is
UPS Monitor tracks the uninterruptible power supplies that keep your racks alive: battery charge, output load, runtime remaining, input/output voltage and active alarms. It supports the major vendors (APC, Eaton, CyberPower, Vertiv, Salicru and others) over SNMP.
A UPS failing silently is one of the most expensive surprises in a server room — this module exists so it never is silent.
What you can do with it
- UPS inventory — the sidebar lists every UPS with its name, IP and a color-coded battery badge (green above 80%, orange 25–80%, red below 25%). A UPS counts as online when either the ping sees it up or it has answered SNMP recently (some networks filter ping; SNMP still gets through). Battery charge and output load come from the live SNMP reading whenever there is one; the deep-discovery snapshot is only a fallback.
- Fleet dashboard — the “Overview” tab shows “Total UPS”, “Online”, “Avg Charge” and “Critical” counters, a “Battery Health” ring (Charge / Load / Runtime), “UPS Rankings”, power charts (“Battery Charge”, “Output Load”) with “1h” / “4h” / “12h” / “24h” ranges, and a “24h UPS Availability Matrix” heatmap.
- Per-UPS detail — click a UPS to see “Battery Status” (charge, health, age, temperature), “Input” (voltage, frequency, current), “Output” (voltage, current, load %), “Active Alarms” and a configurable chart grid.
- Groups, reports and CSV — organize by room or client, print a “Fleet Report” or a per-UPS “Report”, export to CSV.
- Deep discovery — pull vendor-specific battery and power tables over SNMP through the Local Agent.
How devices get here
UPS devices are added through the Auto-Provision Wizard (Terminal page → “Network Tools” → “Auto-Provision”): scan their management IP, then choose the UPS destination in the results table. See [[crearack—ups—add-ups-devices]].
Requirements
- The UPS needs a network management card answering SNMP (v2c or v3) — most rack-grade UPS have one built in or as an option.
- In production, polling private LAN addresses goes through the Local Agent (
CreaRackAgent.exe) inside your network.
